Chris Childs- General contractor, owner, boss. Chris has known he wanted to be a builder since he was playing in the sandbox as a child. This led him to study construction management at Ferris State. He has never done anything else and started his own company in 2005. After working as a carpenter for many years and seeing the future of other building companies, he developed a dream. Build a company where the employees are happy and deliver a product they can be proud of. The goal is to create happy customers. He works every day to make this come to life. When he is not working, he is camping, cooking, or coaching.
Casie Childs- Operations manager. Casie works with customers from the moment they sign up for a project. She is your go-to for the contract, timeline, and cost. Most importantly, she will help you navigate the selection process. Connecting you with vendors and making sure all your selections are functional, in budget, and fit your vision.
Casie’s favorite part of her job is working for a family company. She identifies herself first as a Mom and loves to work somewhere that family is a core value.
Joe Crossley- Lead Carpenter. Joe’s favorite part of his job is “being a carpenter”. Like Chris, he has never done anything else. Carpentry is a family tradition for the Crossleys. Joe has extensive knowledge in all aspects of building a home. From framing to finished trim work.
When his work day is done, Joe loves to spend time with his wife, three adult children, soon to be a grandfather and BBQ.
Mike Vine- Carpenter. Mike came to Tri-County Builders with knowledge of siding and exterior finishes. Since then, he has expanded his knowledge to framing, trim carpentry, and tile. His favorite thing to do is tile, and he has become our lead tile installer! When Mike’s not working, he loves to spend time with his daughter and attend concerts with friends and family.
Tyler Erwin- Carpenter. After his career in the military, he began working in the trades. His favorite part of working here is his coworkers. He says, “Everyone has a good attitude, makes work fun”. When Tyler is not working, he likes to hit the gym or go for a run.
Justen Rapp- Apprentice. Justen has steadily increased his skill set since being here. He recently mastered siding. Justen plans to continue on the path to being a carpenter. When he is off work, Justen plays competitive pool locally.
Mark Dunsmore- Trim Carpenter. Mark has all-around carpentry knowledge, but specializes in trim carpentry. In his free time, he does woodwork, specifically chiseling.
Sawyer Childs, Laborer. Our oldest son and youngest team member, Sawyer, is spending his summer laboring at Tri-County Builders to suck up all the knowledge he can from the crew. In the evening and on weekends, he gets “Tri-County” exposure.
When Sawyer’s not working, he’s on the field playing a whole list of sports. With whatever time left, he’s riding his dirt bike, which he paid for with money from last summer’s work.
